Honesty Room

I would take the president into the Honesty Room and ask him to reveal all of the secrets of the United States - like Area 51, the truth about all the presidential assassinations, September 11, etc. I would also take my younger sister and ask her what she did with all of the things she has stolen from me over the years. I'm really not sure who else I would pick - but I think once I started getting the truth out of all of these people it would be hard to stop. Maybe it would be better to not even try it in the first place.

In 100 Years

I think that many things will change in the next 100 years, although maybe not quite as many as changed in the last 100 years. I think that women's rights will continue to improve, to the point that 100 years from now people will be shocked that there was ever any disparity between what men and women were paid. I also think there will be huge advances in alternative energy sources, so hopefully we will no longer be dependent on fossil fuels to run almost everything. I also think that the role of religion will diminish. Even today, less and less young people are choosing to belong to a religion and attend churches/synagogues/mosques/etc. People in the future will probably think that a lot of the things we do now are very strange - from the clothes we wear to the food we eat.

Things You'll Never Do

I will never do any of these things again:
  • Ride a roller coaster
  • Eat any kind of fish
  • Listen to country music (if I can help it)
When I was a junior in high school, I went on a trip with the school music department to San Antonio, Texas. I had an amazing time, and we did a lot of fun things. On the last day of the trip, we went to Sea World. While we were there, my friends convinced me to ride a huge roller coaster. I had never done so before, but it seemed like it might be fun so I reluctantly gave in. The second the roller coaster started moving I instantly regretted my decision. I am not a big fan of heights, so the entire experience was kind of terrifying for me. I covered my eyes throughout the entire ride. When it was over, I resolved to never ride another roller coaster again, and I could not be happier with that choice.

A Houseplant is Dying

Hello houseplant. I am sure you are very tired and might think that it is your time to die. But I assure you that it is not. Why would you want to die when there is still so much to do and experience? You can spend time relaxing and basking in the sun. Not to mention all of the delicious water you have yet to soak up.
There is so much going on inside the house that you can observe. And what if you get to move outside someday? If you die, you might never get to experience fresh air and the outdoors. There is a whole entire world waiting for you to experience it.

Freaky Friday

My daughter Lauren is 18 years old and attends Clarke University. She is majoring in Elementary Education and Spanish. Lauren really enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also likes to spend time outside riding her bike, hiking, and doing other activities (but only when the weather is nice, because she hates the cold). She likes reading as well, although she has not had much time to do so lately because she is so busy.
Lauren is a very dedicated person, and she always puts a lot of effort into everything she does. She is somewhat of a perfectionist, which can be a bad thing when she spends too much time working on something that is not very important. Overall, she is a very considerate, compassionate person and I am very proud of her.

Fear

I don't think there is a good reason for why people are afraid of sharks, as opposed to other more dangerous things. It is irrational, as most fears are. I think that nearly all of my fears - spiders, heights, and needles, to name a few - are irrational, because I am intensely afraid of them despite the fact that I will most likely never be harmed by them.
I think one of the most widespread fears, and also one of the most rational, is probably the fear of death. Everyone experiences this fear at some point in their lives. It is also an inevitability that we all must face death, therefore the fear of it is rational.

Who You Admire

I would gladly wait in line to meet:
  • President Obama
  • Jane Austen
  • Martin Luther King Jr.
  • Yo-Yo Ma
All of the people on my list are either very accomplished in their particular field, or have had a great positive impact on the world. Their achievements have made significant contributions to human culture, and have often affected the lives of many. I think this says that I am a person that values not only success and prosperity, but devoting one's life to a cause that one believes in. That is a goal I hope to reach in regards to my own life as well.
